Reaction To Oil Of Oregano

OLPC running on Squeak, very soon, will leave MIT

are not unknown "problems" Squeak license. On the other hand, recently spoke that Apple had agreed relicense Squeak (version 1.1) as APSL2 .

Shortly thereafter, we learned that Apple had agreed to relicense Squeak again and this time he a Apache 2 license. Now

Viewpoints Research Institute is responsible for contacting all authors of code in Squeak after version 1.1 for Squeak to relicense all the MIT license.

I already sent by regular mail and signed the original agreement where the relicense accept my part.

Duty For Gold Biscuits

Squeak in Extremadura and the OLPC: Examples from software patents.

Some time ago we announced the video that the Board had been on Extremadura the use of Squeak in the region.

This weekend I found this note of :

http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=20061118091048997

The note does not have any waste, but I'll these fragments:

" Personally I enjoyed the video from the little girl Who Said Squeak Introduced her to computers and she found out she likes Them. That Is Not What education is supposed to do for children? "

" ... dog so programmers work to create masterpieces like Squeak That Benefit Society.

What a concept. Benefit society. ”

Please think it over, everyone, and decide just how much damage you are willing to let software patents do, just to benefit a few companies, who by the way made their billions at a time when there were no software patents to get in *their* way, and at the expense of everyone else on the planet with them.

And please look at the Squeak video and the children's faces as they talk about Squeak before you decide.”

Mill's Pride Closet System

Photos of a prototype OLPC (the $ 100 Laptop)

Debido a que estoy colaborando con la versión Squeak que va to run on the OLPC (I'm making the Video4Squeak work well with the limited resources of the OLPC), I became one of the happy owners of a board of OLPC alpha.

So far only managed to build up a 91 and left running all (I updated the bios , go the wireless network, go on X, anda Sugar, etc).

Next step: Install Squeak ... stay tuned!

UPDATE: Already pictures of the prototype "B" in http://wiki.laptop.org/go/B1_Pictures
